With our clever platform and sharp eye for security, compliance and ease of use, we make it easy for employers to manage the human side of business - from digital timesheets and rostering, through to calculating payroll, banking the payments and filing to tax authorities.

We’ve established a strong foundation in New Zealand, becoming a trusted payroll provider for small businesses. Now we’re taking our expertise trans-Tasman, building solutions for Australian micro-businesses where no single end-to-end payroll solutions exist for managing payroll and employees.

About the role

Our product and reach are growing, which means so is our Development Team. We’re looking for confident, capable and clever developers who like the sound of what we do and are keen to help us grow. 

The main stack you’ll be working on is TypeScript, Vue.js and PostgreSQL, but we may ask you to work on other projects and technologies from time to time.

About you

You’ll have plenty of development experience in a professional environment, so you know what it’s like working to a delivery schedule. You’ll understand collaborating with other departments, so we know we’re on the right track and on the same page with our roadmap and release schedule, and you’ll understand how to prioritise activities. You’ll have deep expertise at multiple levels of the application stack; we don't expect you to know everything, but the more ground you can cover between our presentation layer, integrations, middleware and backend, the better.

You’ll be a senior or up-and-coming senior developer with plenty of experience. For us, ‘senior’ means that beyond your excellent technical knowledge, you’ll also:

• See situations and problems holistically rather than as individual pieces of a puzzle
• Give guidance and mentorship to uplift the skills of those around you
• Actively seek out peer review and consultation with others (including other teams)
• Drill into user needs and requirements, being ready to explore multiple possible solutions to a desired outcome
• Understand your limitations and where you need to learn a new skillset or seek assistance from others.
