IRD/Payments Administrator
About us
PaySauce has been cooking up awesome payroll since 2015. What started as a bold idea has grown into a platform delivering the best payroll solutions for small businesses. With our clever platform and sharp eye for security, compliance and ease of use, we make it easy for employers to manage the human side of business - from digital timesheets and rostering, through to calculating payroll, moving the money and filing with tax authorities.
We’ve established a strong foundation in New Zealand, becoming a trusted payroll provider for small businesses. Now we’re taking our expertise trans-Tasman, building solutions for Australian micro-businesses where no single end-to-end payroll solution exists for managing payroll and employees - it's an exciting time!
We love payroll and people, and we’re revolutionising the way they are looked after: we really care about helping both employers and employees by making the tough things simple and letting them focus on the things that matter. Our goal? Effortless yet flexible. Clever solutions that are intuitive to use and make payroll a beautiful experience.
About the role
You’ll be the person making sure our customers’ payments and tax filing land exactly where they should, and exactly on time. This role sits at the pointy end of PaySauce’s promise to small businesses: that payroll, banking, and IRD filing just work, without the stress.
Day-to-day, you’ll manage our IRD and customer payment cycles. That means making sure our customers have a great experience, even when they don’t get things quite right. You’ll be engaging directly with customers to help resolve queries about paying their staff and how the payroll has been recorded with tax authorities.
This is a role with end-to-end ownership of a key function of the business. You’ll get to run the daily operations and help shape improvements for our customers. You’ll be responsible for the reconciliation of our customers' payments on a daily basis, so you’ll need a sharp eye for detail and a genuine interest in getting the numbers right, because for our customers, getting it wrong isn’t an option.
About the team
You’ll be part of the Finance team, reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant. It’s a close-knit team that cares about accuracy as much as they care about each other, and you’ll have experienced people around you who are genuinely interested in helping you learn the ropes and grow your skills.
About you
You’ve got a background in banking, accounting or finance, and you’re comfortable working with financial reports, reconciliations, and the kind of detail others might find tedious, but you find satisfying. You know your way around a spreadsheet and you have an understanding of financial controls, either through banking processes or use of accounting software (Xero experience would be awesome).
You care about doing things properly, and you investigate until you’ve found a solution. You’ve got a strong sense of integrity, especially when it comes to handling sensitive information, and you’re the kind of person who double-checks the numbers because you know they matter to real people and real businesses.
You’re also a solid communicator who can work well with others, and you’re keen to keep growing your understanding of financial principles and best practice as you go.
Why you’ll love working at PaySauce
Life is good here with the PayForce. We take care of each other as much as we do our customers: we’re built on being empathetic, kind, and people-first.
We’re committed to supporting your development and ensuring you feel fulfilled and happy at work. We’re dedicated to ensuring everyone feels valued and has a contribution to make to PaySauce’s (very bright) future.
You’ll get health insurance, birthday leave, extra leave if you’re becoming a parent and an invitation to join our employee share scheme. You can ditch the formal office wear - we’re pretty laid back, and the office is fun, friendly and close to shops and cafes. Most importantly, you’ll have an awesome, supportive crew around you in a company that’s really going places.
