About us

PaySauce has been cooking up awesome payroll since 2015. What started as a bold idea has grown into a platform delivering the best payroll solutions for small businesses. With our clever platform and sharp eye for security, compliance and ease of use, we make it easy for employers to manage the human side of business - from digital timesheets and rostering, through to calculating payroll, banking the payments and filing to tax authorities.

We’ve established a strong foundation in New Zealand, becoming a trusted payroll provider for small businesses. Now we’re taking our expertise trans-Tasman, building solutions for Australian micro-businesses where no single end-to-end payroll solution exists for managing payroll and employees.

We love payroll and people, and we’re revolutionising the way they are looked after: we really care about helping both employers and employees by making the tough things simple and letting them focus on the things that matter. Our goal? Effortless yet flexible. Clever solutions that are intuitive to use and make payroll a beautiful experience.

About the role

This role sits right at the front door of PaySauce. You’ll be the first proper conversation a lot of small business owners have with us, and often the reason they decide to make the switch.

You’ll respond to inbound enquiries from business owners exploring PaySauce, running discovery conversations to understand what’s actually going on for them, their pain points, their current setup, and what they genuinely need from a payroll solution. From there, you’ll guide them through the features of PaySauce and the sign-up process, keep your CRM in good shape, and follow up with people who’ve gone quiet.

This isn’t a script-reading sales role. You’ll build real knowledge of payroll, compliance and the wider market, and you’ll feed what you learn from prospects back into how we sell, demo and even build product. You’ll also work closely with the rest of Customer Success to make sure new customers land well once they’re through the door.

About the team

You’ll be joining our Customer Success team, reporting to the Customer Success Manager. The team looks after customers from their very first enquiry right through to onboarding and beyond, so you’ll be working alongside people who care as much about getting the start right as you do.

About you

You’ll have experience in an inbound sales role, and you’re comfortable using a CRM or lead management system such as Salesforce or HubSpot to keep your pipeline organised. You communicate well, both in writing and in conversation, and you’re genuinely curious about the businesses you talk to rather than just working through a call list.

You’ll be someone who can hold a discovery conversation with a small business owner and actually listen to what they need, instead of pushing a pitch. Experience working with small employers, or an understanding of the constraints they operate under, will be a real advantage. Knowledge of payroll or payroll software is a bonus, but we’ll help you build that up if you’ve got the right instincts for the rest.

Why you’ll love working at PaySauce

Life is good here with the PayForce. We take care of each other as much as we do our customers: we’re built on being empathetic, kind, and people-first.

We’re committed to supporting your development and ensuring you feel fulfilled and happy at work. We’re dedicated to ensuring everyone feels valued and has a contribution to make to PaySauce’s (very bright) future.

You’ll get health insurance, birthday leave, extra leave if you’re becoming a parent and an invitation to join our employee share scheme. You can ditch the formal office wear - we’re pretty laid back, and the office is fun, friendly and close to shops and cafes. Most importantly, you’ll have an awesome, supportive crew around you in a company that’s really going places.
