Business Development Manager

Full Time - Permanent

About us

PaySauce has been cooking up awesome payroll since 2015. We started off small but have been growing fast - we’ve moved from start up to scale up and have more and more customers learning to love the Sauce! With our clever platform and sharp eye for security, compliance and ease of use, we make it easy for employers to manage the human side of business - from contracts to digital timesheets, payroll, banking and filing.

We love payroll and supporting people, and we’re revolutionising the way they are looked after: we really care about helping both employers and employees by making the tough things simple and letting them focus on the things that matter. Our goal? Effortless yet flexible. Clever solutions that are intuitive to use and make payroll a beautiful experience.

About the role

We do some pretty amazing stuff here at PaySauce, and we think we’ve got a pretty awesome payroll solution for small businesses. We aren’t shy in telling people about it, and our Sales team are amazing at telling our story to partners and prospects.

As a Business Development Manager here at PaySauce, you’ll be:

We’re open to lots of different regions in New Zealand, so if you’re keen to work from home but travel regularly this is the role for you - applications from all regions in Aotearoa are welcomed.

About the team

Our small but superb Sales team is currently split around different areas of New Zealand: our Head of Sales is Auckland based, while other BDMs are in various spots around the country. Our onboarding team supports the sign ups through to their first pay run, so you’ll work closely with them as well as with our brilliant Customer Support team, and our Marketing Manager - all based out of our HQ in Petone, Wellington.

About you

You’re able to effectively balance keeping existing relationships strong as well as actively seeking new ones: we love and value our partnerships, and you’ll understand the need for keeping those strong even while we explore new ones.

Ideally, you’ll have familiarity with selling payroll or something similar like HR or accounting software, but we can teach you the ropes if this is new to you. You’ll understand both B2B and B2C strategies, you won’t be scared of approaching new faces, and critically, you’ll understand how to tailor your approach for every situation. You're naturally super driven to close deals and relish delighting customers and partners.

You should be ready and willing to travel fairly regularly, whether it's just getting out and about on the road or the occasional flight to other areas.

Why you'll love working at PaySauce

Life is good here with the PayForce. We take care of each other as much as we do our customers: we’re built on being empathetic, kind, and people first.

We live by our values - they aren’t just words on a page to us, they are what we live and breathe. We’re straight up and take our mission seriously, but we have fun along the way!

We’re committed to supporting your development and ensuring you feel fulfilled and happy at work. We’re dedicated to ensuring everyone feels valued and has a contribution to make to PaySauce’s (very bright) future.

You’ll get health insurance, extra leave if you’re becoming a parent and an invitation to join our employee share scheme. Most importantly, you’ll have an awesome supportive crew around you in a company that’s really going places.
