Digital Marketing Specialist
About Us
PaySauce has been cooking up awesome payroll since 2015. What started as a bold idea has grown into a platform delivering the best payroll solutions for small businesses. With our clever platform and sharp eye for security, compliance and ease of use, we make it easy for employers to manage the human side of business - from digital timesheets and rostering, through to calculating payroll, banking the payments and filing to tax authorities.
We’ve established a strong foundation in New Zealand, becoming a trusted payroll provider for small businesses. Now we’re taking our expertise trans-Tasman, building solutions for Australian micro-businesses where we are redefining the payroll software market.
We love payroll and people, and we’re revolutionising the way they are looked after: we really care about helping both employers and employees by making the tough things simple and letting them focus on the things that matter. Our goal? Effortless yet flexible. Clever solutions that are intuitive to use and make payroll a beautiful experience.
About the role
This is a hands-on role where you'll own PaySauce New Zealand's digital channels and marketing automation, executing campaigns that drive real lead generation and revenue growth.
Your days will be spent managing our websites, building and automating customer journeys, deploying paid campaigns across Google and Meta, optimising our SEO strategy, and ensuring all our tracking and analytics are working beautifully. You'll be working alongside internal teams and partner agencies to deliver on objectives.
This role requires someone who can work independently and troubleshoot issues without needing a dedicated developer on speed dial. You'll be the one setting up tracking in Google Tag Manager, fixing Salesforce sync issues, building new pages and website functionality, and connecting the dots between ad spend and pipeline outcomes. You'll have the autonomy to test, optimise, and improve our digital marketing machine, with the support of the Head of Growth to guide strategy and priorities.
About the team
You'll be joining our Growth team, reporting directly to the Head of Growth. This is a small, focused team working to drive PaySauce's expansion in New Zealand. You'll be working closely with the Head of Growth on strategy and priorities, and collaborating with creative agency partners who support our campaigns with assets and design work.
About you
You're a self-sufficient digital marketer who gets energy from seeing campaigns perform and leads convert. You've worked in digital marketing before, ideally in a small SaaS business, and you're comfortable juggling multiple channels and platforms.
You'll be confident using Webflow, building new pages, adding functionality, and improving content management. You're a master of the tools behind the scenes, adding pixels, configuring event tracking, setting up triggers, and debugging issues when things aren't firing correctly. You're fluent in GA4 - building reports, creating audiences, setting up key events, and understanding attribution.
You have solid marketing automation experience, having built engagement programs, set up lead scoring, and you know your way around Salesforce well enough to troubleshoot sync issues and understand how marketing data flows through to sales.
You're someone who can prioritise your own work, solve problems without waiting for answers, and keep multiple projects moving forward. If you've marketed to small business owners before, or have a background in payroll, accounting software, or fintech, that would be fantastic - but it's not a dealbreaker if you haven't.
Why you'll love working at PaySauce
Life is good here with the PayForce. We take care of each other as much as we do our customers: we’re built on being empathetic, kind, and people-first.
We’re committed to supporting your development and ensuring you feel fulfilled and happy at work. We’re dedicated to ensuring everyone feels valued and has a contribution to make to PaySauce’s (very bright) future.
You’ll get health insurance, birthday leave, extra leave if you’re becoming a parent and an invitation to join our employee share scheme. You can ditch the formal office wear - we’re pretty laid back, and the office is fun, friendly and close to shops and cafes. Most importantly, you’ll have an awesome, supportive crew around you in a company that’s really going places.
